PAPERBOARD & PRINT

Custom Folding Cartons

One dieline per fit. One approval per artwork.

Plan custom printed paperboard cartons for individual products and coordinated ranges. Start with the product dimensions, closing method and packing operation, then define paperboard, artwork and quantities per SKU.

Quotation follows a specification review. Sample scope and fees are agreed separately.

QUANTITY, SAMPLE & DELIVERY

Plan the order around your product.

A starting brief for your quotation

Quantity
List pieces for each size and artwork. A range total does not establish the minimum for each SKU.
Samples
Choose material, structural or printed sample review. Availability, fees, revisions and sample shipping need agreement.
Production
Scheduling follows the approved specification and commercial terms. Confirm the production window for the actual order.
Delivery
Confirm packing, destination and required arrival. Production time excludes transport; freight and destination responsibilities need separate agreement.

Your written quotation defines the scope and exclusions for the actual project. Check delivery responsibilities ↗︎

START WITH THE CONSTRUCTION

Define how the carton closes and packs.

Choose the presentation that suits your product. We can develop the structure, insert and finish around the details you share.

Tuck-end direction

A paperboard carton with tuck flaps, considered around product access and packing.

What we will check
Review the top and bottom closure, dust flaps, fit and the packing sequence.

Discuss this direction ↗︎

Locking-base direction

A carton base designed around a specific assembly and loading sequence.

What we will check
Review the intended load, locking or gluing arrangement and the actual filled sample.

Discuss this direction ↗︎

Sleeve direction

A printed paperboard sleeve around an existing tray, box or product.

What we will check
Define what supports the product; a sleeve alone is not a complete protective pack.

Discuss this direction ↗︎
THE MATERIAL & FINISH BRIEF

Materials & print finishes

Explore the surface and print effects you want. We will check the combination against your chosen structure and sample.

Print & finish

Discuss printed areas, colour references and the intended finish, such as foil or an embossed detail. Mark each finish on the artwork and confirm its compatibility with the selected paper before approval.

THE BOX & INSERT TOGETHER

Inserts & product fit

Decide whether the carton structure supports the product or needs a separate insert. Check loading, removal and closure with the actual contents.

Compare insert directions ↗︎
Discuss your box and insert ↗︎

Include in the discussion

  • Product dimensions, units and weight; include every item in a set.
  • Contact points, orientation and how the product is lifted out.
  • Proposed insert material, assembly and the checks a sample should support.
  • Whether the quote includes the insert, development and its packing.

Standalone insert orders need a scope review. A fitted display sample does not by itself establish transport performance.

Product fit and board

Provide product dimensions and weight. Board grade, caliper and grain direction need review with the crease and closure design.

Dieline and artwork versions

Keep cutting, crease and glue areas distinct. Provide one controlled dieline and approved artwork version for each size or printed variant.

Packing operation

State manual or machine packing, flat or erected supply, SKU identification and bundling. Trial the actual loading and closing sequence.

BEFORE WE START

The practical questions.

Is a folding carton the same as a collapsible rigid box?

No. A folding carton is a paperboard construction; a collapsible rigid box uses a different board and assembly structure. Compare them against the same product and packing brief.

Can different artworks share one order quantity?

Provide quantities by size and artwork. A range total does not establish the feasible minimum for each SKU.

Are these cartons approved for direct food contact?

No direct-contact approval is implied. State the contents and intended contact so the material and documentation scope can be reviewed before any commitment.
